The United States Computer Emergency Readiness team (US-CERT) operates within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s National Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center (NCCIC), protecting America by responding to major incidents, analyzing threats, and exchanging critical cyber security information with trusted partners around the world.  You may have already signed up for the popular email alert subscription at the bottom of their main page. US-CERT alerts are widely used by information security professionals as a source of timely threat information for computing systems.

If you are an organization that also uses industrial control systems, consider signing up for an additional email alert subscription to the ICS-CERT list, also at the bottom of their main page. ICS-CERT also works with the NCCIC across all critical infrastructure sectors, but with a focus on responding to, analyzing and communicating about incidents and vulnerabilities that are specific to industrial controls. ICS-CERT coordinates vulnerability assessment and incident response efforts among Federal, state, local, and tribal governments and control systems owners, operators, and vendors.  If you or your organization maintains SCADA, PLC and/or DCS systems, ICS-CERT can provide you with actionable intelligence and important, timely general information on industrial cyber security issues.
